Loosely described as a yin/yang flow, connect to yourself, connect to the practice and connect to the community that gathers, with the powerful energy of Dawn and Jacob guiding you.  Suitable for all levels, although some familiarity of yoga would be helpful, but a willingness to go at your own pace is more helpful. Mindful movement, breath and meditation.

Join us for the annual Edinburgh Yoga festival party.  Everyone is welcome! There will be live music from the amazing Martha Gilespie, free seated shiatsu sessions with the super talented Jenny White , nutritious, delicious food, chai tea and treats from our hosts Serenity Cafe, talks on 'yoga in our time' and dancing and chants with the fabulous Kirtan Scotland. An Introduction to Forrest Yoga with Janet & Brian

A Yoga practice for our times, Forrest Yoga has been created by Ana Forrest to “inspire people to clear through the stuff that hardens them and sickens their bodies so they can walk freely and lightly on the earth in a healing way.” 

Forrest Yoga teaches us to connect in feeling and build the strength and resilience necessary to navigate our contemporary lifestyles.

Mandala Yoga with Mudra

Mandala is a method of yoga, a dynamic vinyasa practice cushioned between Yin Yoga to both challenge and nourish you. 

Each sequence is determined by the element we are working with, and follows the lines of meridians determined by that element. 

We will move in a mandala, a full 360 degree flow around the mat. Its fun and freeing and empowering!

Rest Nest: Restorative and Nidra Fusion with Bev & Kat

In our nourishing Rest Nest, we will deeply relax and unwind, recharging our inner battery as we explore the regenerative benefits of the fusion of Restorative Yoga with Yoga Nidra - a subtle, yet powerful, guided meditation journey.  As well as facilitating deep, conscious rest, this combined journey invites us to come home to the true essence of ourselves... a resting in the space of the heart. 

The Rest Nest provides relief from stress, tension and fatigue, promoting health and healing on all levels as we practise the art of being kind and gentle with ourselves. Beginning with Restorative Yoga – a conscious yet deep relaxation practice that provides healing for the body and the mind with a help of props - we are able to re-set the nervous system while deepening into practices which help us to accept support in the physical body, inviting a sense of balance and comfort through our whole being.

After unwinding body and the mind, we will settle into a luxury form of savasansa to receive a creative and heart-centred form of Yoga Nidra - an ancient yogic practice which translates as "conscious sleep”,with numerous therapeutic uses, such as supporting healing, relieving stress and enhancing creativity. Through guided deep rest in the sub-conscious space between dreaming and wakefulness, with the body asleep yet the mind alert, we can connect with our deepest nature and find peace, authenticity, and ease.

108 Sun Salutations with Stacey

A fun, challenging, group experience. Stacey will lead a counted 108 sun salutations, with everyone in the class taking their 108 sun salutations together, creating a shared breath and shared high energy in the room, energising for all who take part. Stacey will explain an ashtanga sun salutation and give sun salutation variations to make the event as fun and open to everyone as possible. Completing 108 Sun Salutations is an achievement of both physical and mental dedication and focus and you will be left energised and euphoric!

Celebrating the vital layer of our being: Pranayama with Bijam

The pranamaya kosha or energy sheath is the “energy department” of our system, the link between body, mind/emotions and spirit.  Prana is life; and pranayama is the control and expansion of prana.  Following the popular 4-seminar programme “Progressive Pranayama” led by Bijam in 2017, in this 75-minute session she will begin to look at how we can use asana practice not only for its structural benefits but also in the service of pranayama.  The breath work in asanas can bring us to a deeper, more inwardly focused place to facilitate pranayama practice; and pranayama can lead us to mantra and ultimately to meditation.  This journey is likely to be the central theme of “Progressive Pranayama 2”.

Meeting Our Manipur with Rachel

In this one hour class with Rachel we will be "Meeting our Manipur", the Sacral or Navel Chakra that we hold within the core of our spine located near the centre of the digestive tract. This chakra is also referred to as our second brain as it is what we use when we 'listen to our gut'. Through this practice we will learn the benefits of connecting and opening this chakra, how we can digest any blockages here, allowing ourselves to create and diffuse energy to the entire physical body, releasing anger, increasing self confidence and internal wisdom. This is an all levels class so come, bring your internal fire to this introduction to meet your own Manipur.

This class brings you the best of both worlds. You will start with a 40 minute energising and empowering cycle class, after which you will be guided through a 40 minute Yin yoga class. Yoga Sculpt with Georgie

A total body workout, the Tribe Yoga Sculpt classes are set to energizing music and designed to tone and sculpt every major muscle group. This class complements your regular yoga practice, while boosting your metabolism and pushing your strength and flexibility to new heights. Free weights are added to the class sequence, creating resistance and intensifying each pose. Strength-training exercises such as squats, lunges, bicep curls and tricep curls are incorporated to build lean muscle mass. You will see visible results in your body. Practiced at 32 degrees.

Post Natal Workshop with Penny

This workshop provides a haven of calm and 'me -time' for new and not so new mums aiming to strengthen and stretch the postnatal body and also promote deep relaxation and emotional well being. The workshop combines postnatal yoga movement with breathing techniques, restorative postures and deep relaxation. There will also be an opportunity to connect with other mums to share experiences and smiles.This workshop is suitable for mums from 12 weeks post partum onwards. No previous experience of yoga is necessary. For practicing yogis, this session will complement general yoga classes, by focusing only on key postnatal issues.

This smooth Yin style class is aimed to leave you feeling rested and open. It is a wonderful way to rest the mind while opening and restoring the body. Poses are held for between 2-5 minutes and  props such as bolsters are used to help emphasise each asana. It's truly a wonderful style of yoga to learn and a joy to teach also.
